Choosing simplicity with Liberté Greek.
Proud of being the precursors of Greek yogurt in Canada, we are now thrilled to offer our famous Greek yogurt to all with this all-new lactose free favour option: Vanilla! First lactose free Liberté product, it is also the first ever lactose free greek yogurt in Canada.
What’s a lactose free greek yogurt?
Crafted using traditional Greek methods, the yogurt is strained according to the principles of old-time cheesecloth draining, which gives it an incredibly rich and creamy texture and one that’s absolutely free of fat. No fat at all!
Requiring three times more milk than a regular yogurt, our lactose free Greek yogurt also contains twice the protein of any other regular yogurt. It’s an excellent source of energy and the perfect choice for a low-fat diet.
Lactose intolerance, afflicting nearly 20% of the Canadian population* is the inability to digest lactose, which is the predominant sugar naturally found in milk. Composed of two sugars, galactose and glucose, they must be separated to be digested. This is accomplished with the addition of an enzyme called lactase. Lactose intolerants do not produce enough lactase to be able to convert the lactose in milk.
Like all Liberté products, our new lactose free Greek yogurt contains no preservatives, no additives, no artificial coloring nor gelatine.
